22LR moderation

Recommended Posts

I've tried many many rimfire moderators over the years on 22LR. I put my Hornet mod on there, a DM80, today mainly for the balance - being a bit heavier it stabilizes the muzzle much better. I was amazed how quiet it was - I shot a rabbit at 80 yards, the first sound I heard was the thump of the bullet, there was nothing else at all.

I've had a Sak on there normally, and it's loads quieter. Looks like that moderator will be shared between my rimfires now...

Sounds good... I'm looking for another moderator for my 22LR... my Parker Hale seems quite noisy when I take it out to our smallbore range.

How much is the DM80??

Thanks,
